Dual Motor Pump Timer Controller for 2 Borewell Motors

            Amirtha Mami, is one of the Flat Owner of Sai Dinesh Apartments in Adambakkam, Chennai. One fine morning, in 17th January 2016, Amirtha Mami called me and discussed the day to day hassle that she was facing. She is a good narrator basically. Really I like the way she talks. I always admire her Brahmin Slang. I used to talk to her in same way. She likes me a lot when I speak her language. Coming to the point below,

            There are totally 8 flats, in their apartments, for which two borewells motors are being used to fill their common single overhead tank. The problem with their motors is that they are very old ones and they run only for 15 minutes each with one hour interval on turns.

            In order to make this operation smooth, Amirtha Mami had scheduled a time table with the Flat numbers mentioned so that each flat takes their responsibility at the schedule assigned for them to put the motor when their turn comes.

        Do you think this would have worked out? Of course, her idea was right in order to make everyone involved so that one person alone is not burdened here.

        But this created a chaos and it is a human tendency to be reluctant and there problem arose when any of the flat members forget their slot. Of course, every flat members are tired of their regular routines.

        So, Amirtha mami was suggested with real time controller, but she did not prefer and wanted an automation that would match her routine.

RMG’s SOLUTION:

I thoroughly understood her requirement and after discussion with my team, we came out with a customized product called Dual Motor Timer Controller. Here goes the operation, (Legend à Motor 1 as M1 ; Motor 2 as M2)

1. Four level indications for tank was given to see the level of water in tank.
2. When the tank is empty, M1 starts first and runs for 15 minutes and stops. From this stop time, 1 hr will be calculated internally by the device and makes the M1 run again after 1 hour only.
   
3. M2 gets started once M1 stops and M2 will run for 15 minutes and stops. Again from this stop time, 1 hr interval is kept in memory by the device and makes M2 run again after 1 hour only.
   
4. This above two operation gets repeated till the tank is full.
   
5. Both M1 and M2 will get OFF when the tank is full.
   
6. Both motors were given Dry Run Protection also.
   

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION:

        This was the solution given to Amirtha Mami. It was installed on 05.02.2016 at their premises. It is still running perfectly. Of course, due to wear and tear, service calls then and there comes. We promptly address her site service and resolve it. Amirtha Mami is not only my customer, she became a well-wisher and a good friend of mine. She greets me on important occasion. Apart being a business, a customer turning as friend is more important is what I feel. At times, I may have some higher volumes of orders, Amirtha Mami, co-operates with me in case of little delay in services. She understands my situation and operate the motor manually as it was done prior installation of RMG unit. It is just because, we have completely understood their pains and relieved out of their high times and hassles. Below is the product installed in their apartment.
